Chairman: Mark Joseph, personal membership

Our Vision:

Our Strategy:

Review proposed Local, State and/or Federal legislation, regulations and ordinances and take positions when appropriate. Develop working relationships with Local, State and Federal lawmakers and their staff. Research and advocate for new or revised programs or legislation to assist local businesses. Educate business and the community through results of questionnaires, public forums, etc. regarding political candidates and their effect on American Canyon.

Current Issues & Legislation

  • TOT (Transient Occupancy Tax) Measure to increase our current rate from 10% to 12% which makes us even with the rest of the Napa Valley.
  • TBID (Tourism Business Improvement District) - City Council approved a 2% assessment to be attached to visitors using our hotels. This is a countywide assessment where 1 1/2 % goes to countywide tourism efforts and ½% comes back to our city to market American Canyon exclusively.
  • Casino Room Tax - Currently a $2 per person tax for everyone that plays cards at the Napa Valley Casino. This item is still being discussed at the City council level.
